FROM CONCEPT TO COMPLETION:
Exploring the Creative Process through Mosaic.
Taught by Internationally renown mosaic artist, Dianne Sonnenberg.
Step into your creativity.
Do you want to become comfortable creating your own original designs?
Do you want to learn how to take a vague concept and create a meaningful work of mosaic art?
Do you yearn to find your voice as an artist and convey your unique point of view?
Do you need a fresh start?
Join us at the beautiful McRanch Art Studio in Dripping Springs, Texas, where internationally recognized mosaic artist Dianne Sonnenberg will guide you through the creative process, and help you discover your own inspiration and passion. You will discover your innate ability to find your vision and trust your imagination. You will work through concept, sketches, technique and practice pieces to come up with a final 8” x 8” framed piece of your own original mosaic art.
Find your artistic vision.
This workshop will particularly benefit those who want to create original work, discover and/or develop their individual styles, and grow as artists. We will explore a variety of techniques to overcome artistic block, fears or inhibitions, identify our technical limits, and develop skills to move beyond these barriers.
Through a series of exercises, discussions, slideshows, and hands-on projects, participants will create their own designs, make several 4”x4” mosaics and a larger 8”x8” framed mosaic. You will also work on a sketchbook of ideas, notes, and inspiration to take home and guide you through your continuing artistic development.
Create from the soul.
We will begin our days with breath work, meditation, a smudging (cleansing) ceremony, and movement. Included in the course will be creative and contemplative time spent in nature, on the picturesque land at the ranch. With respect to Indigenous People’s Day, we will celebrate the land and honor its history and innate beauty.
This workshop will be challenging, but also supportive and inspiring. You may find yourself going beyond your comfort zone, but you will find that the more energy you can devote to the concepts you learn, the more value you will get out of it.
Share in the Camaraderie.
The process and goals will be different for each of us, but when we are on the journey together, it can often yield more powerful and unexpected results. Sometimes the most interesting ideas can come in collaboration with other artists and in new settings.
